Generally, Rural/Metro hires applicants for part-time positions. Once, he/she has completed required training rides and is certified to work, he/she may submit a letter of intent for current full-time positions that have been posted.

Each operation has a combination of 10, 12, 14, and 24 hour shifts.

Start times and length of shift are staggered to best accommodate customer needs.

Different services are offered according to the needs and requirements of each area.

• Snohomish and King Counties: BLS and CCT
• Pierce County: ALS, BLS, and CCT

• Pierce County EMT's and Paramedics are required to work at least 72 hours per month.
• Snohomish, King, and Whatcom Counties require all field employees to work at least 48 hours per month

Rural/Metro offers competitive wages with each local labor market in which business is conducted.

We take each candidate’s professional experience into account and extend offers accordingly.
